A person who designs pages for the World Wide Web.Web page design requires computer graphic design skills plus knowledge of HTML and how to convert graphic images and sound files into web formats.

Web Page Definition

A web page is defined as presentation of information that would normally fit on one 8-1/2 X 11 sheet of paper.

Web Site Content:
Prices quoted in our packages assume content will be supplied to us written the way that you would like it to appear on your web site. If you would like our designers to write your content additional fees will be incurred and we will give you a special quote for that service.

Graphics:
Package prices assume you will supply graphics unless you choose from our graphics gallery. If custom graphics are desired additional charges will be incurred.

Links to Outside Web Pages:
A Links page (a page that has a list of links to other sites) is considered a "secondary page". Our package prices are based on you providing the links that you wish to have on this page. If you would like to have us collect and provide the links to put on your page, we will give you a separate price quote for this service.

General Pricing:
Prices quoted in our packages represent our basic price outline and are subject to our review of your materials.

Generalist versus Specialist

Two types of Web designers seem to be emerging in the industry: generalists and specialists. A generalist is a typical “Webmaster” who not only programs and builds databases, but also creates simple graphics and content. Many companies think they can hire one person who can come up with a pleasing, workable site design, generate the code, and write the content too. A few people can do this, but not very many.

A specialist is a professional who has expertise in one area of Internet media, such as an ASP Web developer, the information architect, or the graphic designer. A specialist usually works as part of a Web team -- like the one I am building. And each team member works on a Web site in terms of his or her specific area of expertise.
